How NC State University is using Burning Glass data to revolutionize how students see the value of degrees

February 25 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Is your institution focused on student success? Interested in leveraging the use of technology? Or does it need to develop an innovative, cost effective, and proven student recruitment strategy?  Join us on 2 p.m. EST February 25  to find out how North Carolina State University  has developed a new career-focused student recruitment strategy using the Burning Glass  Labor Insight™ data platform that revolutionizes how students evaluate academic programs.

In 2019, NC State partnered with Burning Glass to develop and create a new marketing strategy and infrastructure that integrates jobs data with academic program descriptions. This new system allows prospective students to see real-time career data that gives them the ability to evaluate the most promising course of study and potential future employment opportunities for their future.

As the global pandemic accelerated the number of students interested in taking online and distance learning programs, NC State’s programs have been strongly positioned against its competitors because the focus is on academic opportunities aligning with relevant career information.

Come and join us on February 25 with Kay Zimmerman, Associate Vice Provost DELTA-Marketing & Partnership Development, who will share strategies and experiences for developing the new career-focused platform and how it helped NC State to re-think how they communicate their degree values to students.

Kay Zimmerman has an extensive strategic enrollment, marketing and technology management background from higher education, corporate technology management, and coordinated program development experience. Her broad and dynamic background in building collaboration and resource management encompasses the entire spectrum from statewide to national leadership experience to grow higher education. Kay’s professional goal is to provide collaborative leadership and appropriate solutions, that support the educational mission of NC State and the ever-changing learning and technology environment.

As the Associate Vice Provost for DELTA Marketing and Partnership Development and Entrepreneurship Initiative marketing, Kay provides executive level support, leadership, coordination and collaboration for marketing and partnership development strategic planning, facilitating mission/vision. In addition to these DELTA responsibilities, Kay also develops and manages student recruitment, marketing and strategic partnerships to enable DELTA to consistently build recognition throughout the University and the state of North Carolina that meet and exceed enrollment goals.
