Matthew Sigelman, Chief Executive Officer
Matthew Sigelman is Burning Glass's CEO. For more than a decade, he has leveraged his expertise in human capital management, data, and analytics to advise clients and guide solution design and implementation. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, Matt has led the company’s development of leading-edge tools that help users gain critical insight on the skills and credentials demanded by employers worldwide. Burning Glass equips its clients – job seekers and employers as well as HR professionals, educators, analysts, and workforce and economic developers – with the actionable intelligence they need to succeed in today’s complex and dynamic labor market.
Matt previously served as CEO of M4 Financial, a developer of real-time financial analytics technologies, and with Capital One, Mesa Air Group, and McKinsey and Company. He holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BA with Honors in Public Policy from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
Joshua Ticktin, Vice President, Client Services
Joshua Ticktin is Burning Glass's Vice President of Client Services. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at M4 Financial, a developer of financial analytics technologies for real-time, automated business creditworthiness evaluation. While with M4 Financial, he led the design and implementation of the company's processing operation as well as key product development and infrastructure functions. Earlier, Josh created the marketing, credit, and operations blueprints for Capital One's foray into a $70 Billion consumer finance business. He has also served as an equity analyst with Bulldog Capital Management where he applied extensive quantitative rigor in evaluating investments and in the creation of trading strategies. Josh was also a consultant with Monitor Company, where he advised clients on the design of data-driven targeted marketing initiatives and on the reengineering of service operations.
Josh holds a BA with honors in History from Princeton University.
Kevin Burgess, Director of Business Development
Kevin Burgess is a Director of Business Development at Burning Glass. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vice President of Business Development for EmployOn, a leading online jobs data aggregator and human capital software provider. Previously, Kevin was involved in starting an internet marketing strategy firm and was the Director of Sales and founding employee of CareerBoard.com, which grew to become the Midwest’s largest job board.
Kevin holds a BA in History from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Jayanta Chowdhuri, Director of Operations
Jayanta Chowdhuri is the Director of Operations at Burning Glass. Previously, he was Senior Project Manager with Omnikron Systems, where he directed major software initiatives for Fortune 100 clients. Previously, Jayanta was a Production Manager with Philips Electronics, overseeing production processes in both the Netherlands and India. He brings to Burning Glass extensive experience in process control, quality engineering, product design, and people management across a range of contexts.
Jayanta holds a BE in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University in Calcutta, India. He is also a Microsoft Certified Developer.
Michael Cox, Director of Enterprise Sales & Solutions
Michael is the Director of Enterprise Sales & Solutions at Burning Glass. Previously he was Business Development Director with RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions, a provider of outsourced business process services and solutions. Before RR Donnelley, Michael was a Business Development Manager at Vertex, a provider of business transformation services. Earlier he was a Managing Consultant at Merchants Group, helping clients in the UK and Europe develop and implement customer contact strategies and solutions.
Michael holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University where he focused his study on strategic financial management.
Tom Fitzgerald, Director of Business Development
Tom is a Director of Business Development at Burning Glass. Prior to joining the company, he served for over eleven years as Chief Executive Officer of Nevadaworks, the northern Nevada Workforce Agency. Previous to Nevadaworks, Tom started and ran JA Thomas and Company, a printing firm with national contracts, for sixteen years. Tom has also served as a small business consultant and entrepreneur.
Tom holds a BS in Political Science from Utah State University.
Susan Goldberger, Director of Education and Career Advancement Services
Susan Goldberger is Director of Education and Career Advancement Services. Prior to joining Burning Glass, she was Vice President of Jobs for the Future (JFF), a national nonprofit organization focused on implementing new educational models and career advancement solutions for low-income students and adults. At JFF, Sue led the development and expansion of innovative education and workforce training programs designed to boost college and career success. She brings over 20 years of experience working with leading states and their school districts, community college and four-year college/university systems, and workforce training organizations to improve college completion rates and career outcomes. Previously, she founded and directed several community-based organizations that advocated for improvements in health care, child care, and economic opportunity for low-wage workers.
Sue holds a PhD in Social Policy from Brandeis University and a BA from Brown University.
Uday Rajendran, Director of Software Development
Uday Rajendran is the Director of Software Development at Burning Glass. He was previously Chief Software Engineer and then Managing Director with Omnikron Systems, a consulting firm to major banks and insurance companies, where he led the development of a wide range of leading-edge software development projects. While with Omnikron, he led a team of 40 developers in fully automating Transamerica's back office. Uday also developed the technical strategy for VISA's settlement systems consolidation.
Uday holds an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California where he focused on the design of haptic feedback devices and an ME in Electronics from the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani.
Yustina Saleh, Director of Analytics and Strategic Research
Yustina Saleh is the Director of Analytics and Strategic Research. Prior to joining Burning Glass, she was the Director of Labor Market and Demographic Research at the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, where she oversaw the production, dissemination and analysis of state labor market information. Yustina developed one of the first real time labor demand-supply analytics in the nation designed to realign workforce investments with industry needs. These analytics resulted in a paradigm shift in workforce investment allocations methodology and are being replicated in several states. She was also a major player in several regional development and redevelopment initiatives in New Jersey, including Workforce Investment Regional Economic Development (WIRED) and Fort Monmouth Reuse and Redevelopment Plan.
Yustina has significant experience in the higher education sector. She oversaw the research and policy analysis division at the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, where she conducted a number of legislatively mandated evaluations of various financial aid programs in New Jersey. She also spearheaded a research project to assess the General Education Requirement (GER) curriculum at Hunter College.
Yustina holds a PhD in Political Science from Rutgers University and a BS in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
Sudarsun Santhiappan, Director of Research and Development
Sudarsun Santhiappan is the Director of Research and Development at Burning Glass. He has extensive experience in text mining, search engines, knowledge-based systems, and distributed computing. He has authored numerous papers and is regularly invited to speak at academic conferences.
Sudarsun holds a Master of Technology degree in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology - Madras with a specialization in Natural Language Processing. He received a University Gold medal for his Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Madras University in Chennai, India.
